i made this collage totally spur of the moment this morning, after i found that feather on the sidewalk on the way to my office.

this is the first collage that i’ve made that isn’t “personal” to me so i wasn’t sure how it would turn out. i’m actually happy with the results so i’ve decided to put it up for sale on etsy. depending on how this turns out and if it does sell, i’ll probably start trying to sell more collages on etsy and eventually offer custom collages as well.

this was taken with a polaroid spectra camera and expired spectra film. it was shot during bright sunlight and i love that it came out so dark! that’s definitely one of my favorite things about polaroids and expired film- you never know what you are going to get!

i’ve got two new collages this week. both are made using recycled books and polaroids and both are inspired by lyrics- the first being death cab lyrics and the second being bloc party lyrics. i really enjoy making my collages. i’m so glad i started doing these!

i got to shoot a lot of good graffiti that i found in wynwood over the weekend. this mural by MAC and RETNA was definitely one of my favorites.

i love creating collages… i create collages using polaroid pictures. i create collages in my moleskine books. i create collages using recycled books found in thrift stores. i love cutting & pasting bits of papers, photographs, feathers, words…and putting them together to express my emotions. my collages are raw, passionate and honest.

POLAROIDS. ((click for more))

i love taking pictures with my polaroid cameras. there is just something about polaroid film that attracts me. perhaps it’s the instant gratification of it all. perhaps it is the “what you see is what you get” aspect of it. there are no fancy photoshop tricks involved- you get one shot to get it right. perhaps it is the perfectly square format. whatever the reason, I love that polaroid film gives me the chance to capture moments in time, through my eyes, the way I view the world. It’s just me and my camera and that’s all I need. no photoshop, nothing digital, just me. me and my amazing polaroid cameras.

i currently use: sx-70 sonar autofocus, SLR 680, spectra, onestep 600 cameras.
